Falkon is a QtWebEngine KDE web browser that was previously known as QupZilla. It aims to be available across all platforms as a lightweight browser. The project was initiated for educational reasons. Over time, however, the browser has developed into one of the best browsers. The standard functionality and features of Falkon are just like those found in other browsers. It contains the tabs, history, bookmarks, and the sidebar. It has a built-in plugin that blocks Ads by default. In December 2010, the initial version of QUpZilla was released, written in Python. However, over time, numerous versions have been released, and the browser has now been written in C++ with the use of Qt Framework. QupZilla's new versions are currently being released under the name Falkon under a KDE project.
